A FEW CASE STUDIES

SOMETHING NEW

Friends of the Laramie Skatepark is a non-profit Josh Kaffer and I spearheaded that quickly grew with volunteers. The goal of the group is to create a community around skating in Laramie, Wyoming. The group provides classes to teach skating, bring awareness around best practices and to raise funding for future skating projects. I worked on logo design and branding for the group so that we would have a professional presentation when working with the City of Laramie on projects. The non-profit has held multiple Learn to Skate Days, Skate Competitions along with some fundraising that has secured three skatepark additions.

PROMOTING

I volunteered to help with setting up and making all of the marketing materials needed for a skate competition fundraiser. This is the event poster that we hung up around town.

EVENTS

We hosted fundraisers at our local market on Fridays to raise awareness and connect with community members that would have otherwise not known about us.

BUILDING

We also worked with local companies to host fundraising events. This poster has some hand-drawing along with typography that was consistent with our branding. The photo used is of people who helped build our expansion full pipe that we raised funding for. They also helped build the famous Burnside Skatepark.

LITTLE BIRDS

A local photographer was needing some help building an identity that embodied their fun, new photography business. We worked through a lot of preliminary ideas to land on the logo you see in gold. Here are some concepts and final imagery for the brand.

SKETCHES

Building a brand is hard. And with so many ideas at hand, it’s important to nail down some high quality images for logos.

Here are some more logo ideas.

CARDS

Something natural, krafty, but clean. The gold added a modern touch.

FLYER

The client needed something that they could mail, carry with them and start the pricing conversation.

AND USB DRIVES

Creative Process

The creative process can be super hard to navigate. Sometimes it’s slow, sometimes it’s fast and it’s always messy. For most projects, I will start off with drawing, from there I will take more finalized versions and clean them up. Then, I transfer those drawings into whatever medium I’m working in. From there a project can take very little to a lot of time. Here are some skills that I’m particurally excited about.

  • Illustrator
  • InDesign
  • Photoshop
  • Wordpress
  • WATERCOLOR
  • Eating Tacos
